If you want to improve your golf swing, and ultimately your game, there are many things you can do as far as golf swing help goes. You can get golf instruction from golf pros (expensive) web sites, E-books or DVD’s to name a few. These sources haven proven to be helpful to learn the mechanics different techniques and tips that improve your golf swing.

Unless you have ample time day after day to work to improve your golf swing like the pros have, it will be very challanging to achieve that ultimate goal of consistent performance.

The golf swing technique of today has become so complicated, that golfers are “paralyzed by over-analysis”.

The key to a better golf swing is practice. With practice and a understanding of the mechanics of a golf swing you will be able to hone your skills and be that much more effective when swinging the club. With this in place you should develop your “natural swing” and be able to swing the club effectively without having to put a lot of thought into it.

With that being said, very few golfers are able to keep their minds off their swing. Golfers tend to think about the tips and techniques they have recently learned or read about when swinging the club instead they should actually be relaxed and concentrating on the ball and where they want to place to land.

By clearing your mind of swing thoughts you will find that your swing will actually improve.

The following are some helpful tips to a successful golf swing:

  • When addressing the golf ball make sure that your setup, stance and proper grip are in place.
  • When trying to rework your swing mechanics start by swinging easy, 75 to 80% of your full effort, you should see much better results moving forward.
  • A mistake that is seen time and time again is demonstrated in a golfer who slices the ball and tries to make up fo  it by turing left or turing right for left handers. What is to be gained from this is, recognize what is causing the ball to slice instead of compensating for it and take action to correct the problem.
  • Most swing issues that challenge golfers can be found in the arm mechanics. This is can be overcome with simple practice. When perforing  the back swing make sure you keep your writs form breaking at all  times. Your lead elbow should always remain straight and the trailing elbow is to remain tucked into your side at all times.
  • Shifting weight  is crucial to your golf swing. When performing the back swing you should have proportional weight between the lead and trailing foot. On the down swing all your weight should be pushed to  the front foot. This weight transfer plays a big role in the power of your golf swing.
